Still-life

Here are some panoramic and compositional photos. Most probably, they will be featured in an exhibition for which I'm currently working out the logistics, advertising and artwork, so it'll all be ready by the time autumn comes around. Feel free to comment!

By their boldly manipulated colours, the works approximate the tonal quality of (hyper)realist painting, thematically they refer to the initially cheerful, but retrospectively pensive emptiness of vintage modernist postcards. I would love to see large prints. Great work, Mr Brands!

Thank you, Mr. Kolen. I'm always glad to hear people's opinions regarding my work, and in this case you're pretty much on the money: I tried to invoke a timeless, yet also "late seventies" kind of atmosphere. As you may have noticed, these photos don't feature any people (at all), or objects that might divulge the era in which they were taken; I'm planning to move further in this direction, so you can expect more to come. If you happen to be in the vicinity of Ghent come fall, be sure to visit my exhibition - details will follow shortly.
